Demand greater than supply in the Minneapolis job market

The unemployment rate in the state of Minnesota is 5.7 percent and this is the lowest number in the last three years. There were 243,000 job gains in January and Minnesota was also in on the job growth with businesses looking to hire additional workers for the increased expansion in the economy.

Health care led the way in Minnesota as usual with retail, manufacturing and business services all part of this jobs growth. Additionally, because of a lot of new orders, growth and acquisitions, temp agencies and recruiters are looking hard to find more workers to fill these jobs. For health care, United Health Group has been increasing its number of employees by around 30 percent in the last two years and the renowned Mayo Clinic actually had 1,600 job openings last month.
