Minneapolis, MN Job Hunting Tips
According to the most recent "hard numbers" gathered November 2010, the unemployment rate for Minneapolis, MN was around 8.8% (Simply Hired). The December numbers should be coming out later this month and are expected to see marginal improvement.
I can honestly say that these numbers are good compared to other cities of similar size around the country, thanks mostly to the diverse economy of the area. If you are a job hunter make sure to explore every opportunity that you are presented with and to really get your name out there. Pick up some new skills if you can - do anything you can think of to set yourself apart from the rest of the crowd. Fill up the "empty space" on your resume with volunteer work, classes, and social organizations - all of these things can help give you an extra boost that will be needed in this type of employment situation.
